At 8:00 PM, a Low Pressure Area developed over the Philippine Sea.
19 July 2024
The Southwest Monsoon brought moderate to heavy rains over Northern Palawan, Occidental Mindoro. At 8:00 PM, the
Low Pressure Area over the West Philippine Sea west of Batangas developed into Tropical Depression (TD)
“BUTCHOY”.
Meanwhile, the Low Pressure Area over the Philippine Sea also developed into Tropical Depression (TD) “CARINA”.

TD "BUTCHOY" was unlikely to directly affect the country within the next days. However, the Southwest Monsoon that
was enhanced alongside TD "CARINA" brought moderate to heavy rains over the western portion of Luzon over the next
three days.
At 11:00 AM, TD ''BUTCHOY was outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).
At 2:00 PM, “CARINA” intensified into a Tropical Storm.
21 July 2024
At 5:00 AM, TS “CARINA” slightly intensified over the Philippine Sea.
At 4:00 PM, The center of Tropical Storm CARINA was estimated at 365 km East Northeast of Casiguran, Aurora.
At 8:00 PM, “CARINA” intensified into a Severe Tropical Storm raising Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 in some areas
in Luzon.
At 11:00 PM, “CARINA” remained almost stationary.

At 4:00 AM, The center of Severe Tropical Storm CARINA was estimated at 420 km East of Tuguegarao City, Cagayan.
At 5:00 AM, STS “CARINA” further intensified while moving slowly.
At 11:00 AM, STS “CARINA” continued to steadily intensify as it moved northwestward over the Philippine Sea.
At 4:00 PM, "CARINA" intensifies into a Typhoon while meandering over the Philippine Sea.
At 11:00 PM, Typhoon “CARINA” slightly intensifies as it moves northwestward over the Philippine Sea.
At 2:00 PM, CARINA strengthened to typhoon category

At 5:00 AM, “CARINA” is now crossing Taiwan and nearing the northern boundary of the Philippine Area of
Responsibility (PAR).
At 5:00 PM, TY “CARINA” continues to weaken and is now over Southern China.
At 11:00 PM, "CARINA" weakens into a Severe Tropical Storm over Southeastern China.
