Description

The earthquake that occur today in Bener Meriah district of Aceh province Indonesia at 14:37 Local time or 7:37 GMT. Based on the press release of BNPB, the incident has caused the following impact: - Affected villages Bener Meriah: 115 out of 233 villages Aceh Tengah: 255 out of 320 villages - 42 deaths (8 in Bener Meriah and 34 Aceh Tengah) - 6 missing - 2,532 injured - 18,902 houses damaged - 626 buildings damaged, incl. health facility, mosque, school and others - 36,905 displaced persons - More than 70 evacuation centres RESPONSE - BNPB sent rapid response team to the affected areas along with representative from related agencies such as health, social and public works. - Local disaster management agencies along with military, red cross, volunteer and communities are working together to conduct damage assessment and providing necessary emergency relief operation to include search and rescue.
